MEET THE 07 FOUNDER

We’re proud to introduce Alex Morrison, founder of our newly affiliated 07 Touch Club.

With over 20 years in the game, Alex brings a wealth of experience across all levels of touch—from college and Counties Manukau age-grade to open representative teams, including national championship winning campaigns. He also has a proven track record of building successful environments, having co-founded the highly regarded Loaded Touch Club in 2010.

Since relocating to the Thames Valley, Alex has made an immediate impact. Through his work with Thames High School’s senior touch team, he has helped transform the programme—lifting the team from 44th to 8th nationally, securing three Thames Valley titles, a Waikato Championship, and a 17th placing at the 2025 Australian All Schools Tournament. These results reflect not only performance, but the strength of development, culture, and pathway building.

In 2026, Alex turns his focus to expanding those opportunities through the 07 Touch Club. Built around the 07 area code, the club is designed to connect players across the region and provide clear, competitive pathways for local talent to grow and succeed—both within Thames and on larger stages.

Grounded in a strong community focus, the vision is to develop teams that are connected, competitive, and capable of achieving sustained success. The alignment with Thames Rugby & Sports Club strengthens those pathways further, creating more opportunities for players, coaches, and the wider community.
