Registrations are now open for the 2024 Rugby season with the Upper Clutha Junior Rugby Club. Due to a restructure of playing grades by the Otago Rugby Union the junior club now participates in the following playing grades:

  • Small Blacks Rippa - this is the Rippa Rugby grade for U6 and U7s (players must be 5 by April 29th)
  • Small Blacks Year 3 - 1st Year tackle
  • Small Blacks Year 4
  • Small Blacks Year 5
  • Small Blacks Year 6
  • Small Blacks Open Grade Year 7 & 8

Please note:  if you are concerned about the impact the restructure of playing grades may have on your player please contact Mitch Campbell,  Junior Club Chairman - mitch.campbell@raywhite.com or 021 2424280. Players in Year 9 or  U14 playing grade must register with the Mt Aspiring College Rugby Club.

We will be holding our Club Open day on March 23rd at the Upper Clutha Rugby Club. Teams won't be announced on this day but players will meet coaches and will squad train with their grade. More information will follow closer to the time.

Junior pre-season training will commence on March 28th. Please refer to the Upper Clutha Junior Rugby Club facebook page for updated information. The season kicks off with our first games on April 27th. Registrations will close on March 24th.
