Orienteering

Welcome to Wellington College Orienteering

Orienteering is a sport that suits anyone interested in the outdoors. You will learn navigation and problem solving skills and get fitter by doing this activity.

It would particularly suit those interested in the outdoors in general, and particularly cross country runners and students keen on lateral thinking skill-based activities such as chess. The sport of orienteering also opens doors to the sport of adventure racing, in which New Zealand excels on the world stage.

SEASON:  Orienteering is predominantly a term 1 to 3 sport and most events are held locally on Sunday mornings.  The season will start in February 2024 so register your interest now.

In 2019, Felix Williamson Year 12 represented NZ in the Australia NZ series in Australia after a successful local season where he took out CSW Orienteering Sportsman of the year title.  Felix also had some great national results including fastest time in the senior boys relay at both the NISSOC and NZSSOC.
