Wellington Airgunners Charter

Article I:

The name of this organisation shall be: Wellington Airgunners (WAG)


Article II:

The objectives of the WAG shall be:

  1. To promote interest in the use of air guns in all forms, for such activities as hunting, target shooting, and other related practices.
  2. To educate people in the safe use and modification of air guns.
  3. To provide fellowship among likeminded individuals.
  4. To represent the voice of air gun enthusiasts.
  5. To provide a forum for the development of innovative ideas to benefit the air gun community.


Article III:

Any individual eligible to own an airgun who applies may be granted membership in the WAG, subject to there being no disapproval from WAG officers. Disapproval must be non-discriminatory as outlined in Article VII.


Article IV:

On the Election of Officers:

  1. The officers of this organisation are president, secretary and administrator. Two more individuals may become senior members.
  2. Election of officers is by nomination and verbal ballot. A majority of votes constitutes a victory, with non-present members abstaining.
  3. Election of officers will take place once per annum, unless an officer or senior member wishes to step down.
  4. A standard term of office constitutes of 365 days.


On the Recall of Officers:

  1. An officer's behaviour or decision may be challenged at the request of 5 active members.
  2. An investigation will be conducted by not less than 2 other officers or senior members in the presence of those members who are concerned.
  3. An officer can be removed from office by either:
    1. a majority vote by the remaining officers and senior members.
    2. a 2/3rds majority vote cast amongst ALL active members.


On Temporary or Substitute Officers:

  1. In the event of the WAG not having a full complement of Officers elected, interim Officers may be appointed at the discretion of the remaining Officers and senior members.
  2. These interim Officers may not hold a position for longer than 6 months without formally running for the position they are occupying.



Article V:

Voting may take place at any club meeting on a presented agenda. Ballot is verbal and a majority is required to pass the decision.



Article VI:

This is a not-for-profit organisation, however there is a small membership fee to cover costs.


Article VII:

This organisation shall not discriminate on the basis of age, color, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability or handicap, race, religion, or sexual orientation. This policy will include, but is not limited to recruiting, membership, organisation activities or opportunities to hold office.


Article VIII:

Role of Positions:

  1. President
    1. Official representative of the organisation.
    2. Calls members and officers meetings.
    3. Presides at said meetings
    4. Prepares agenda for meetings.
  2. Secretary
    1. Maintains accurate and current information of the organisation and membership.
    2. Keeps accurate minutes of each meeting.
    3. Keeps attendance records for meetings.
  3. Administrator
    1. Co-ordinates activities of the organisation with the assistance of other officers and senior members.
    2. Maintains accurate and current account of organisational funds.
    3. Responsible for dispensing of funds in accordance with goals established by the organisation.
  4. Senior members
    1. May assist in any of the above roles as required.
    2. May be called upon to provide leadership as required.
    3. May be called upon to provide expertise as required.
    4. May be awarded charge of specific projects as required.


Article IX:

Formal meetings will be open to all organisation members, family and invited guests. A notice of at least 2 weeks will be given prior to each formal meeting. The meetings are to be organised and controlled by officers, senior members and/or active members.


Article X:
