Adult Learn to Row and Corporate Rowing

WRC's 2024 Learn to Row/Corporate Challenge runs from

5 May to 27 July


This year we are celebrating 25 years of this programme!


What you’ll gain:

  •  Learn a new skill (no experience needed)
  •  Develop teamwork
  •  Improve your fitness
  •  Have a whole lot of fun with new friends
  •  A greater appreciation for Wellington’s beautiful harbour, wildlife, and sunrises!

What’s needed?

  • No experience needed! Height, age, fitness levels are not a barrier
  • 5 friends/colleagues to make a crew, or
  • Register as an individual and we’ll find you a crew
  • A willingness to give it a go
  • Ability to tread water and swim 50 metres


What we provide:

  • Boats and safety equipment
  • Trained and experienced coaches
  • Two water-based training sessions per week, with one on the weekend
  • Two core fitness sessions a week​​​​​​​
  • End of Season regatta and prizegiving

What does it cost?

  • Per person - $39.60 per week, ($475 for the season with a branded LTR t-shirt or $425 without a t-shirt)
  • For a crew of 5 the cost is $2375 for the season (Including t-shirts)
  • Plus, additional costs for 2-day rowing camp in Whanganui

(All costs GST inclusive)


The Wellington Rowing Club provides opportunities for schools
and the wider community to engage in the sport of rowing.


Funds raised from the Learn to Row Challenge event go
towards funding plant for the Wellington Rowing Club.

Key Dates for 2024

​​​​​​​May 5th: Kick-off and Information Session at the rowing club, 2:30pm

May 14th: Swim test at Kilbirnie Pool (WRAC) 

June 22-23rd: Weekend Camp in Whanganui

July 22nd: Erg Competition!

July 27th: Regatta and Prizegiving!
