As I am sure you are aware, the pandemic alert level has now been reduced to Level 1, which means that life can return pretty much to normal, except at the borders. Accordingly, your committee has decided that Branch activities can resume, starting with the usual Wednesday morning gathering on 10th June (tomorrow).
The June Club Night will be held on Tuesday 16th June at the usual time. The committee is endeavoring to obtain a speaker, but, because of the short lead time, this may not be possible. So come along prepared to tell a yarn or two about your Lockdown experiences.
Motoring events will re-start with a rally on July 26th. The details of this event will be in the July Motoring Spirit. The convenors of the informal Sunday and Wednesday runs will be in touch directly about these events.
The AGM has been postponed until August 18th. The Government has passed regulations allowing Incorporated Societies (and other organisations) to ignore regulatory and constitutional requirements when compliance has been prevented by the COVID-19 Pandemic, so the fact that this date does not meet the requirements of our constitution is not an issue.
The Prime Minister has asked people to continue with hand sanitising and the collection of contact tracing information. Accordingly, hand sanitiser and an attendance log will be provided at all VCC meetings in the meantime. Please note that she has also asked people to stay home if they are showing any symptoms of sickness.
