Club Events
Typical Events are:
November Rally, Dinner & Prizegiving:
Our Annual November Rally is held on the first Saturday of November, with a dinner and prizegiving in the evening. This is our main event for the year.
Participants are encouraged to dress in the era of their vehicle.
Colonial Cup:
In August we “judge” the year’s new restorations and combine this with a Sunday Rally.
Gymkhana:
A test of driving skills held in a park.
Club Captain's Safari - Monte Carlo Rally:
This is a long touring event run on Wellington Anniversary Weekend, going into other regions and finishing in Whanganui to join their rally Vintage Weekend. The Monte Carlo is run on the Friday, and you choose your starting point and gain points by the places you visit.
Twilight Run:
A run “into the dark” – to see the sunset, usually finishing with a meal.
Daffodil Day:
A car display event held every August to raise funds for the Cancer Society.
All vehicles and spectators welcome. (Details advertised in the Branch Motoring Spirit)
Remembrance Rally/Social Country Run:
A social run to a lunch, where members no longer with us are remembered. This includes readings from Murray’s Joke Books – a wonderful legacy to the club.
Biennial Motorcycle Rally:
The major local event specifically for the motorcycles. Motorcycles are of course welcome on all the other club events.
Monthly Runs
Monthly Run: Months without a special event generally have an activity organised. (Details advertised in the Branch Motoring Spirit)
Mid-Week Run: Last Wednesday each month (Details advertised in the Branch Motoring Spirit)
Sunday Run: First Sunday each month (Details advertised in the Branch Motoring Spirit)
