West End Croquet Club was formed after an inaugural meeting on 15 October 1923. 

The subscription was set at 25/- and the club started with 34 members.

Opening day was Saturday 10 November 1923 on lawns leased  from the West End Bowling Club.

The ladies held baking competitions, socials ,card afternoons, cake and sweet stalls to raise funds for the club.
