Recreational Gymnastics is based on a set of routines developed by coaches and judges in the greater Auckland region in 2011.

Gymnasts always warm up 15-20min at the beginning of each session then devide into groups by age and train on individual apparatus beam, vault, floor, bars.

Receational gymnasts would be considered as those gymnasts who train a maximun of 3 hours per week. Based on their interest, they have the opportunity to compete in Auckalnd at Recreational events like GymFest and Ribbon competitions.  Gymnasts compete and train routines set for their age group, at the head coaches discretion a gymnast may compete at a higher but not a lower age group. Age to be determined as at 1st January, all retired competitive gymnasts must compete in Open level of the 12+ age group. The Open level gives all gymnasts the opportunity to challenge themselves and make up their own routines.

We recommend competitive gymnasts enrol in two classes a week. However, we do understand that our young gymnasts may have other interests or groups that they are involved in and may only be able to participate in one class a week. Feel free to contact us to discuss your gymnasts needs.

Classes run only in school term time. Enrolment in the class is for entire term and enrolment will roll over to next term as it is expected these gymnasts remain training for the entire year until prizegiving.

All recreational classes cost $180 per term, please note this dose not include competition costs such as entry fee, travel, and uniform.

Gymnasts are encouraged to wear club T-shirts/leotards to training, they must wear form fitting clothes inculding tights or lycra shorts. Hair must be off the face and tied up.
Gymnasts are required to have their own club leotard for competitions.

Parents/Caregivers must help pack down equipment for every session their child attends. Gymnasts are also required to help but only with small and safe equipment to move.
Parents are welcome to stay and watch class.
