First established in 1894, the club has a long and proud history, originally based at the current bowling club before moving to the present location. The first tennis pavilion was beside court 6 on the roadside, and there were beautiful elm trees for children to play under before the demand for more tennis courts overtook the need for shade. 

There is incredible old silverware in the trophy cupboards, so have a look at these when you are relaxing in the lounge. ​​​​​​​
