Zest for sport: Quality sport experiences

Alfriston College is here to ensure that sport is enjoyed by all, in a safe, positive environment. Please remember that sport is a time for students to develop their technical, tactical and social skills. Winning is an important part of sport, but isn’t everything. We all have the responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in sport, by signing your child up to play sport  you are accepting and agreeing to this parent code of conduct/behaviour at all times.


As a parent/supporter for Alfriston College I will always;

  • POSITIVE Be positive and encouraging when reinforcing actions of participants

  • APPLAUD the performance of participants

  • PRAISE efforts and not results

  • ENCOURAGE participants to play fair

  • LEAD by example

  • RESPECT participants and Breakaway programme staff

  • PLAY Let players play their own game, it is not your game

  • ENJOY Create an enjoyable environment for both you and the participants


I understand that if I do not follow this code of conduct/behaviour, any/all of the following actions may be taken;

I may be;

  • Asked to leave the game/training by the coach, official or another parent

  • Issued with a verbal warning from the school

  • Required to meet with the school sports coordinator and/or school principal

  • Requested by the school not to attend future games/trainings
