Rally Information

Rally days are on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, we send out a google form before the start of the month for you to mark your intention of coming. If you are not able to attend, please fill the form in so we know.  If things change leading up to that rally please let Ameliah (Head Coach) or your instructor know.

Riders under 18 do require a parent/guardian to be signed up to nominate, on rally days we do ask riders under 16 to have a guardian onsite, any rider under that age can get approval from the head coach to not have a guardian but this is a case by case basis and not always granted.

Start time on rally days for adults is 10am and for the youth the start time is 1pm. (please be ready before start time for briefings and gear check)

There is an expectation that the rider will have reasonable control of their mount, if they are not able to there must be a handler close by to step in and assist. Any dangerous horse or situation will be asked to leave until the right support is in place for everyone's safety.

At rally we work through the NZPCA certificate framework, as well as work towards team events and any personal goals that the riders may have.

For those who want to participate we have the badge system running, ask your instructor, head coach or secretary for more information on this if you would like to take part.

Uniform

Adults: Can wear a plain green shirt with a long sleeve white shirt underneath for any team events. If you would like one please let Ameliah know and she will let you know pricing on them.

Youth: For Rally we wear the Belfast Pony club green and white shirt, beige or white jods, and the correct boots. Long hair should be tied back and not in your face. Gloves are optional. Team events are slightly different, with a white shirt under the jersey and tie with badge are required.

Horse Gear: should be clean and tidy with either a bottle green or white saddle blanket. Horses should be well brushed, with a clean face and oiled hoofs. You are marked on your turn out for end of year awards.

Before the rally starts there is a gear check that is done to ensure gear is fitted correctly and girths are tight, please be ready before the start time so this can be done without delaying the riding time. During a rally we ask that parents be aware of their child's needs, while the instructors will assist where they can, they do need to be able to balance the whole ride so if your child is needing extra support please be there for them.

If a rider is needing to leave their ride for any reason, please let your instructor know.
