THE FUTURE OF MANAWATŪ RUGBY

The Manawatū Rugby Academy is designed to develop promising young players into the Turbos and Cyclones of the future.

Academy players are provided with a range of specialist coaching and support to help them reach their potential as rugby players and develop their life skills off the field. This includes strength and conditioning coaching, physiotherapy, a nutritionist, mental skills coaching, and support from the union's personal development manager.

Notable players to come through the Men's Academy include Aaron Smith, Aaron Cruden, Brayden Iose, and TK Howden.

In 2024, Manawatū Rugby launched it's first Women's Academy to help widen the talent pool for the Cyclones.
