My name is Damion Kinsey and I am the new Principal at Meeanee School as of Term 3, 2020. I'm looking forward to carrying on the great work of Gill Scarlett and with my love of teaching children will attempt to spend time with groups from different classes. We are lucky to have a fantastic Board of Trustees and a small but active PTA.

Our school community is growing rapidly and represents the diversity of Napier. We now have enrolment scheme in order to manage the continued growth of our school. This means that all families intending to enrol children with us need to complete a pre-enrolment form so that we can take all possible steps to avoid overcrowding.  This applies to both in zone and out of zone families.

The school is well resourced and staffed with experienced teachers. We often host teacher trainees during the year for their course practicums. Teacher aides support children with identified needs. We are also fortunate in having access to a social worker for half a day a week on site for those wishing to access her services.

Our spacious site provides lots of opportunities for our children to engage in physical activity and also for coaches to work with classes developing their sports skills.

No two days are the same at Meeanee, and the demands of the job are also constantly changing . Being a small school we know our children and their families well which makes for easy transitions between classes.

It is a lovely place to work and engage in learning with our tamariki.
