SENIOR MEN'S RUGBY

UMS Senior Rugby has enjoyed great success over the years. Both teams were in finals last year in there respective grades. We are proud to provide a professional enviornment that promotes players to be the best they can be. As a rural country club we are competing in the Waikato Premier Competition which puts our players and teams against the best in the region. We can provide pathways to higher honours and individual programme support and guuidance.

We currently have an expert coaching panel who are dedicated to success. Ryan Tuhakaraina is our head coach for 2023 and has come to this role after a couple of years coaching our Under 21 team. Ryan has also played for UMS as well as other clubs in his rugby journey. Passionate to learn Ryan has the excellent support from James Semple. James is the Waikato Womens Head Coach who recently steered this team to a successful final against Canterbury to be crowned Farmer Palmer Champions in 2021. His professional approach is providing a level of learning not seen before locally. He is assisting all grades in coaching part time as he has other professional coaching roles to manage.
