There is a standardised entry fee across all sports of $80 (NZ$) per athlete, per sporting code. This is charged per athlete for individual sporting codes and per team for team sports (based on the number of players in a team). The exception is Cross Country and Hip Hop, which have a reduced per person entry fee.
Additional costs, such as referee fees (if a school is unable to provide their own referee) apply for some sporting codes, and these costs are detailed on each sporting code’s information page.
The 2024 Zespri AIMS Games will offer 27 sporting codes. 17 of our sporting codes on offer provide the opportunity for athletes to enter as an individual. The remaining 10 sporting codes are team sports.
Students competing must be enrolled full-time in the school they are representing. As the Zespri AIMS Games is an interschools sporting competition, teams cannot be comprised of students who are enrolled in different schools.
Students may compete in more than one code, provided they are in line with the permitted code crossovers as detailed below. Essentially, students are able to compete in a maximum of two sporting codes (either in one team sporting code and one individual sporting code or in two individual sporting codes). In addition, students are also able to compete in Cross Country and/or Hip Hop. Timetable allowances will not be made for any competitors, and it is the sole responsibility of the school to check for programming conflicts.
