2nd: Belmont Intermediate No. 1: Jonty Waddams, Riley Marsh and Jack Watts

The Auckland Petanque Association held its annual Schools Petanque tournament on Friday 19th May, 2023, at the Herne Bay Petanque Club. We were very fortunate with the weather - a lovely fine day albeit with a little wind.

Unfortunately some schools were unable to participate because of teacher strikes but we still had 19 [triples] teams and this made for some exciting games.  The students very quickly picked up the rudiments of the game and were quickly shooting and doing carreau's. And pointing was excellent as well.  It was a really enjoyable sight to see, the students putting their heart and soul into participating which bodes well for the future.
