  • Respect other riders and their supporters
  • Respect our horses and care for their welfare
  • Be gracious winners and dignified losers
  • Play hard but play fair and play to enjoy our sport

RULES
  • Please respect our grounds and remember to take your rubbish away, clean up after your horse by either taking your manure home or disposing of it responsibly and clearing up any leftover hay etc. Leave no permanent reminders of your visit, e.g a hole where your horse has pawed while tied to the float/truck.
  • Horses and ponies are always to be ridden in a bridle and correctly fitting saddle (horses may be ridden bare-back at the discretion of an instructor) and riders must always have a safety approved helmet on while mounted and appropriate footwear when around their mounts.
  • Dogs must be under control at all times
  • Be courteous
  • Thank your instructors and any helpers after each rally
  • You must have signed the APPC charter of fair play and follow its guidelines.
  • Our grounds are available for use outside of pony club rallies for current financial members only, riders must be accompanied by at least one adult who has a cellphone (or 2 adults if no cellphone). You must contact either the secretary or president by phone or text to advise that you are intending to go to the grounds. This is mandatory so we know who and when the grounds are being used, please remember our grounds are part of a public domain so appropriate behaviour, etiquette and dress are required as any riders using our grounds are an advertisement for our club. If this privilege is abused then we would have to ban all riding at our grounds other than rallies and the gate would be locked.
  • Membership at our club can be refused if members do not follow the fair play charter, guidelines and our own club rules

Fundraising events
We run additional events for the benefit of our members and to raise funds so our club can continue to provide quality instructors at rallies and maintain our equipment.

Regular events held by our club are:
• Sports Day
• One Day Event or Hickstead Event
• Delivery of the Manawatu telephone directory to the Ashhurst area MAY

These events need the support of all members and their families and you will be expected to assist as required. For each event, there is setting up, the actual event and the clean up afterwards all of which may need your contribution.
