Auckland Area Pony Club

There are a large number of team competitions where either the Area sends a team or clubs/branches send teams. These competitions cover a number of levels. Below is a brief description of the competitions. As documents and entry forms are released for these competitons and their trials they will be added to this page.

NZPCA Eventing Championships

Auckland Area aims to send a team to the NZPCA Eventing Championships. In the 2016-2017 season these will be held at Barge Park in Whangarei between 19-23rd April 2017. If you are interested in riding at this event contact the Head Coach at your branch/club. The Area will hold trials to select the team. Typically these trials are in February or March.

NZPCA Dressage Championships

Auckland Area sends a team to the NZPCA Dressage Championships. In the 2016-2017 season these will be held at the Waikato Equestrian Centre January 28th-29th. The Dressage Champs Facebook page is here. Entry Forms for the Area Trials are on the For Riders page.

Trials to select the team are normally held in December.

Horse of the Year Show Jumping Championships

Between 7-12 March at HOY there is a Show Jumping competition between Areas. The team consists of two hack and two pony riders. Generally teams whose riders all go clear in the first round proceed to the second round which has been held in the Premier Arena in past years.

North Island Show Jumping Championships

Each Club (Auckland District, Manukau District, Papatoetoe and Pointways) selects a team or teams to send to the North Island Show Jumping Championships held in Waikato 4-6 February 2017

Timberlands Teams Event

Each Club (Auckland District, Manukau District, Papatoetoe and Pointways) selects a team or teams to send to this Eventing competition which is held over an NZPCA95 (Training) Level course.

Manukau District Teams ODE

Any club with member or branch can send a team or teams to this event held at the Clevedon Pony Club's grounds. There have been two levels of competition. An NZPCA95 level, and a combined NZPCA65/80 competition where competitors can select either the 65cm or the 80cm show-jumping ring, and on the cross-country phase at each fence choose the 65cm or the 80cm obstacle.
