All members are welcome and encouraged to attend all rallies.  Members can choose to come to any rally wether they are mounted or unmounted.  Our riders get together for rallies approximately twice a week during the equestrian season. (Sundays and Tuesdays.)

The upcoming rally's are posted on our members only facebook and an email will be sent out before each rally to all current members. Please respond if you will be attending, this helps us plan our rallies.

Gear checks are done at every mounted rally and red tagged helmets and proper jodhpur boots are compulsory for all mounted members.

Members are expected to arrive half an hour before rallies. We ask all capable parents and riders to help set up and pack up for rallies.  Our club only runs smoothly if everyone pitches in and helps.

All riders aged under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver who remains on the grounds at all times during rallies.  All riding at rallies must be carried out under the supervision of an instructor or other authorised person. No one may ride in a reckless or dangerous manner and all riders must regard the safety of others at all times.

We have a range of coaches and professionals come in for our rallies. Sunday rallies are arrival at 10, ready to ride by 10.30 and finishes around 12.30. Tuesday rallies are arrival at 5, ready to ride by 5.30 and finishes around 7.30.

ACHIEVEMENT BADGES

We are excited to introduce the achievement badges to Belmont pony club. The Skill sheets and further information can be found here.

WORKING RALLIES

The working rally is the backbone of The Pony Club. A working rally is one at which instruction is given and is open to all Members of the Branch.

It may be either a mounted or unmounted rally. An unmounted rally is usually for horse and pony care instruction. Rallies vary in length from an hour and a half to whole day rallies and even camps. All mounted rallies follow a rally plan which is tailored to the level of the groups of riders attending.

CERTIFICATES

Certificates are an essential part of the Pony Club system, providing incentive and encouragement to learn and improve at all levels. Pony Club members work towards their certificates at rallies and can take exams to test their knowledge.

Pony Club certificates are available for all ages and levels of competency with even a lead rein achievement card available for our youngest members.

The pinnacle of achievement for riders are the H (horse management) and A (riding) examinations.

These together award you with the A certificate which shows a very high level of competency in both riding and horse management and is recognised worldwide as such.
