BLACK AND GOLD ENTRIES

Athletics Wellington runs track and field meets on Saturday afternoons, primarily at Newtown Park.  Some meets are also hosted in Masterton.  For a calendar of events go to (include link here)

These meets are for all age groups from college age and above.  The grades are Masters, Senior, Under 20, Under 18 and Under 16 with a minimum age of 12 to compete at the Black and Gold Meets.

For the Black and Gold Meets, if you are a registered member of a club it's free to compete THERE IS NO NEED TO PREENTER AS THIS IS NOW DONE BEFORE YOU EVENT

YOU WILL NEED YOUR WELLINGTON SENIOR ATHLETICS NUMBER TO COMPETE AND THIS SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN ALLOCATED TO YOU BY YOUR CLUB'S ADMINISTRATOR.

You cannot compete without this number so please contact you club administrator today to get your number.

This excludes the school athletes AND guest athletes who will be allocated a number on the day. Please report to the registration desk at least 1 hour before your event.  The cost for school and guest athletes to enter is $5 (except for students from Wellington College, Rongotai, St Pats Silverstream and St Pats Town who have paid a bulk levy).

The other major change is that races will be seeded at the start line by a marshal so it is VITAL that you are at the start line 20 mins BEFORE the scheduled start time. If you are not there at this time we cannot guarantee that you will be in the correct race.

Lanes will be allocated randomly when you as an athlete will select a lane number form a bag. There will be NO LANE SEEDINGS for any race.

The only change form this is for races that do not have designated lane ( 800m and above). You will be given a race position after the finish and then you need to be recorded with the race recorder

REQUESTED EVENTS

Requested events will be considered by the Track and Field Committee provided more than 8 days notice is given to allow the additional event(s) to be publicised to anyone wishing to enter for that week.  The request must be accompanied by a reason, eg to provide additional opportunities to compete in an event ahead of major competitions.
