BMXNZ NATIONAL TEAMS SERIES

The BMXNZ Teams Series is the teams competition within the sport in New Zealand. The Series is offered to encourage rider participation and development within a structured team environment.   This series is open to teams from clubs, businesses, existing teams and groups of friends. The series guidelines offer the regulations to enter the competition & the structure of the series competition format.














SERIES REGULATIONS 

  • Teams to consist of a maximum of 8 riders, but no fewer than 5. 
  • All riders must be current Challenge or Championship license holders of BMXNZ.
  • Teams may consist of North or South Island riders, or riders from both Islands.
  • Teams to have no more than 1 cruiser rider.
  • Each rider can enter this series competition in only one class and for only one team.
  • All team members must wear the same race top. No variations to the jersey design will be allowed for individual team members. 
  • All race tops must clearly identify the team’s name on the jersey as the priority brand.
  • Team names and detail must be lodged, on the official online entry form (along with a image or design of the race jersey) and be received by BMXNZ no later than midnight on Sunday the 26th of November 2023.

SERIES ROUNDS

All seven Regional Champs Events plus the BMXNZ National Championships within the 2024 calendar year will be recorded towards the National Teams Series.

POINTS FORMAT

  • Points at each event will be calculated for the top 5 riders from each team at each round, using the points from the first 4 motos at nominated meetings - if less than 5 riders from a team attend a series event, the points will be calculated across the riders in attendance.
  • The total of the best 4 points scoring rounds per team, plus the BMXNZ Nationals will be used to calculate the series points .
  • Points will only be taken from the standard BMXNZ age Challenge and Championship classes – no other classes will not count towards points for teams.
  • EXTRA LARGE BONUS points will be offered to teams attending event with large participation entries. Events with entry numbers of 150 to 299 entries - teams will get 2 points per rider up to 10 points max Events with entry numbers of 300+ entries - teams will get 4 points per rider up to 20 points max
  • Placing points structure as follows 1st=8, 2nd=7, 3rd=6, 4th=5, 5th=4, 6th=3, 7th=2, 8th=1 

QUERIES & POINTS CHECK

Event results and season to date team standings will be published within seven days of the completion of each event.

Team Managers have 10 days from the date of posting results to lodge any queries. Should you really need to protest, these should be lodged with Chris Greenough as the series manager at the following e-mail; [email protected]


AWARDS

Overall winning team will be presented with the Teams Dalliston Cup, plus each team member will receive a medal. Medals for 2nd and 3rd placed teams. Presentation will be at the 2025 Nationals following the end of the calendar year.
