Help guide the next stage of South Auckland’s world-class sport and recreation hub.
Bruce Pulman Park Trust is seeking a replacement trustee as a current trustee retires. This is an appointment to an existing governance position, not a newly created role.
Our history. Founded in 2001 through Bruce Pulman’s vision, Bruce Pulman Park has grown into a major South Auckland hub for indoor and outdoor sport and recreation. Its Olympic-standard facilities support youth development, community recreation and competitive sport, hosting activities from local social competitions to international test matches.
Our community model. The Park is built on community partnerships and volunteerism. Trustees and staff contribute their expertise to create a welcoming, positive environment that reflects South Auckland and supports the Park’s clubs, community organisations and users.
Our future vision. Bruce Pulman Park is leading the Auckland South Sports Campus concept, Auckland’s partnership-based sports campus. Under this model, sporting organisations participate as strategic partners rather than tenants, and the value generated through participation helps fund the Park’s future.
As a trustee, you will help guide the Park’s strategic future and its next phase of growth and development. You will balance sustainable community and commercial outcomes while keeping the Park closely connected to its users and community.
We are looking for someone who is invested in the Park’s mission, regularly engages with Park activities and events, and brings sound governance judgement to a complex organisation with a substantial asset base, funding requirements and a strong customer focus.
We welcome expressions of interest from people who offer a strong combination of the following:
You will bring a genuine passion for community, an understanding of the Park’s relationship with its users, and a commitment to sustainable outcomes. Your leadership style will be practical, engaged and visible. Not limited to the boardroom.
If this opportunity sounds like you, or someone in your network, we encourage you to share it with the Park’s clubs, community organisations and user groups.
