Casual Rider Agreement

This needs to be filled out by riders who are not Members of Canterbury Mounted Games Association (CMGA) when they attend Trainings, Coaching or Competitions that are organised by CMGA. This include Pony Club members who are attending a CMGA-organised event.

-      Wednesday 3rd January (3 - 4.30 pm):  Pony Club Rally - all pony club riders welcome 

-       Thursday and Friday 4th & 5th January: Coaching sessions.

-      Saturday 6th January: Canterbury Teams Championship and Canterbury MGA Under 18 / Novice Teams Competition (for Under 18 or Novice riders or those with 2nd ponies or pony club teams). Note: there is a SEPARATE ENTRY FORM for this. 

-      Sunday 7th: Team finals and prize giving.

Camp Information and Costs

Competitions and Coaching:

·          Coaching - $25 per member, $35 non-member per session (maximum 4 sessions per pony, 2 each day)

·          Teams competitions - $25 p.p. members, $35 non members (Please fill out separate entry form) Click here

Ground fees:

·         Pony ground Fee - $5 per pony per day

·         Camping - $5 per person per day

Catering:

·          Wednesday - Dinner          

·          Thursday - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 

·          Friday and Saturday - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 

·          Sunday - Breakfast and Lunch

·          Individual meals - Breakfast $5, Lunch $8, Dinner $15

·          All meals $112 p.p.

·          Gluten free and other dietary requirements catered for on request

North versus South Mixed Teams Competition 2023

A Competition for Kate

Talented equestrian, loyal and hard-working team player, diligent student, inspiring speech maker, cultural champion, fiercely independent, fun loving, compassionate friend and family member – Kate Gutry was all these things and so much more. 

A much loved and deeply missed member of the Canterbury Mounted Games Association. 

The North vs South Competition is to be held each year in loving memory of Kate.

Canterbury MGA Pre-Season Coaching

Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th of September 2023

Venue: RDA Arena, Canterbury Park.

Coaches: We are excited to have two very experienced open riders and excellent coaches, Shayla Shaw and Luke Zydenbos. Both riders have selected to represent NZ overseas and Shayla is the coach for the NZMGA Nations team going to South Africa this December.  This clinic will be very beneficial and will help set riders and ponies up for the season.

MGA Members $25 per session

Non-MGA Members $35 per session

Ground Fee $5 per pony per day
