Jones accepts CEO role at Wellington Hockey


Capital Football announce the departure of long-standing Operations Manager, Lisa Jones, as she has been appointed to the position of CEO of Wellington Hockey. 

Lisa has been an integral member of Capital Football, having taken up a position in the competitions department seven and a half years ago. Her tireless work ethic and commitment to the football community has seen the continued production of quality football experiences throughout the Capital region.  During her time at Capital Football she has managed the Capital Football tier one competitions, managed both the Team Wellington Youth, National Youth League team, and the Capital Football National Women’s League team, and was awarded the Trish McKelvey Leadership award at the 2018 Wellington Sports Awards.

Capital Football CEO, Richard Reid, was pleased for the opportunity presented to Lisa and her career development.

“Lisa has been an outstanding member of the Capital Football team and we are sad to see her go.

However, the opportunity that has been presented for her career is a fantastic step forward and we have no doubt that she will be an exceptional asset to Wellington Hockey. We wish her all the best.”

Sally Morrison, Wellington Hockey’s Board Chair, was thrilled with the appointment and the opportunity to move Wellington Hockey’s focus back toward the community game.

The hockey community has been extremely patient as we develop our foundations and regain our focus and Lisa’s background and fantastic roots in the community game are going to be invaluable in Wellington Hockey’s development.

Lisa leaves Capital Football at the end of the year and starts her now role post Wellington Anniversary weekend.

As 2019 comes to a close, information on a replacement process at Capital Football will be released in the new year.
