Permanent, Full-time from January 2027

We are seeking a Deputy Principal with senior leadership experience, post-graduate knowledge and a desire to join our Faith community. The successful applicant will be able to maintain and strengthen relationships within our community, as well as support and grow the college and its successes. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and have the operational and strategic acumen required to lead the annual implementation of the college’s strategic goals, supported by a proven track record in developing and maintaining robust systems and processes.

Our Faith is at our core and is reflected in the day-to-day life of the college.   We therefore require an educational leader who accepts and recognises the responsibility to maintain and preserve the Catholic Special Character of the school. They will also establish positive relationships with rangatahi and staff and will be committed to the bi-cultural nature of Aotearoa New Zealand and to the multicultural nature of our school. The applicant must be a caring professional who can develop our personalised approach to learning where each rangatahi is valued for who they are.

A willingness and ability to participate in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school is a condition of appointment.

TEACHER positions 2027 (Special Character Positions) - advertised on the Education Gazette from 31 August 2026. 

Position 1: Teacher of English (Special Character Position) - Permanent, Full-time from 28 January 2027 

Position 2: Teacher of Secondary Music, Performing Arts and Social Sciences (Special Character Position) - Permanent, Full-time from 28 January 2027 

We are seeking two teachers to join our kura in permanent positions from the 28 January 2027.  As these are Special Character (Tagged) positions, a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the College is required, and shall be a condition of employment. 

To Apply: A Special Character Sch 6, Cl 47 form is required to be submitted as part of the application. Applications must also include the fully completed Application for Appointment: declaration form.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in Aotearoa New Zealand, and hold a current New Zealand Practising Certificate.

TEACHER positions 2027 - advertised on the Education Gazette 31 August 2026:​​​​​​​

Position 1: Teacher Year 7 to 11 / Teacher in Charge Year 7 & 8 - Permanent, Full-time from 28 January 2027 

We are seeking a teacher to join our kura in a permanent position from the start of 2027.

• Proven experience in leading transitioning, with a focus on tuakana/teina support
• Demonstrated strengths in teaching Literacy
• Teacher of Junior Te Reo Māori
• Proven experience in supporting kapa haka
• Experience in teaching up to Year 11 will be required.

Allowance: one management unit with time allowance 

Position 2:  Teacher of Social Sciences and other subjects - Fixed-term, Full-time parental leave position from 28th January 2027 to 18th July 2027.

We are seeking a Social Sciences teacher to join our kura from Term 1 to Term 2 2027, it is a fixed-term full-time parental leave position. The roles requires experience in teaching up to Year 13 students.

Position 3: Teacher of Social Science, English, History Specialist - Fixed-term, Full-time, relieving leave position from 28th January 2027 to 17 December 2027.

We are seeking a Social Science / English / History specialist teacher to join our kura from Term 1 to Term 4 2027, it is a fixed-term full-time relieving leave position. The roles requires experience in teaching up to Year 13 students and ability to teach senior English up to Year 13.

Positon 4: Teacher of Physical Education, Food Technology and Health - Fixed-term, Full-time, relieving leave position from 28th January 2027 to 17 December 2027.

We are seeking a physical education / food technology / health teacher to join our kura from Term 1 to Term 4 2027, it is a fixed-term full-time relieving leave position. The roles requires experience in teaching up to Year 13.

Bilingual Learning Support (Tigrinya or Amharic, and English) - Fixed-term position, term-time only, six to eight hours per week, from 28 January 2026 to 11 December 2026

Worked over three days, with hours of work to be negotiated with the successful candidate;  some flexibility is available.

The successful candidates will support student learning and contribute positively to our school community.

RELIEF TEACHERS​​​​​​​

We are looking for qualified teachers to join our pool of day-to-day relief teachers to start immediately, all subjects.

Previous experience working in a Special Character school or kura is an advantage but not a prerequisite.

Must be available at short notice and readily able to be contacted by phone.
