Opened on 22 August 2023 by Heretaunga Hastings Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst, the Rodney Green Foundation Indoor Cricket and Boxing Centre is a purpose-built, multi-use training facility shared by Central Districts Cricket and Hastings Giants Boxing

Swipe into the facility, turn left and four brand new, bookable indoor cricket lanes are ready and waiting for you to fine-tune your game, available for hire by the hour (unless booked prior)

Our spacious new indoor training hub caters for all levels of cricket, from juniors to masters to BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS, and is open to the general community daily, at selected hours. Anyone can book a net in this world-class training facility, home of the Central Stags and Central Hinds, simply by using our online Pay2Pay booking portal

The large, flat floor space is also available to other sporting codes and groups to hire exclusively, by arrangement

FAQ

When can I book my net?

Sessions are available weekly at the following times, unless booked prior.

You can check daily availability on our Pay2Play booking portal whenever you book online.

The minimum booking is for one hour. If you wish to book a net for 90 minutes, your first slot willl automatically be booked for one hour, then select the half-hour option for the following slot.

•    PEAK Morning  • Monday to Friday, 6am to 9am 
  
•    PEAK Afternoon-Evening  • Monday to Friday, 3pm to 9pm
  
•    OFF PEAK  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm 
  
•    PEAK WEEKEND  • Saturday and Sunday, 6am to 9pm
  

What does it cost?

HIRE PER LANE

•    PEAK  $30 + GST • per hour
•    PEAK  $15 + GST • per half hour
•    OFF-PEAK  $20 + GST • per hour
•    OFF-PEAK  $10 + GST • per half hour

HIRE WHOLE FACILITY

Hire the entire Indoor Cricket artificial turf facility (nets are retractable) for your exclusive use from 9am to 3pm. We regularly host other sporting codes, schools and community events in this weatherproof space

•    DAY RATE  $400 + GST

Where is the Indoor Centre located?

•    The Rodney Green Foundation Indoor Centre is located at Mitre 10 Park, 42 Percival Road, Hastings in heart of Hawke's Bay. See the Mitre 10 Park map on this page. At this stage, public transport is not available to Mitre 10 Park
•    We're extremely fortunate to have this new, $1.8 million facility right on our doorstep, adjacent to the Central Districts Cricket head office, our Rodney Green Foundation Turf Training Facility and on-site hostel accommodation for sports teams
•    The Indoor Centre has dedicated carparking space right outside the building and is also just a stone's throw from the beloved 13th Stag Café, Hawke's Bay Regional Aquatic Centre and Royston Health & Fitness Centre and sports med services
•    A world-class home of multiple sporting codes, more than 320,000 people have visited Mitre 10 Park in the past year

What shoes can I wear inside the facility?

•    Shoes must be worn at all times in the Indoor Centre
•    Studded/spiked footwear is not permitted to be worn anywhere in the Indoor Centre

Can I hire a bowling machine?

•    Sorry, there is no bowling machine available for hire at this time

Can I hire a coach?

•    If you are seeking coaching support, please contact your local cricket club. You can find contact information for local cricket clubs in Hawke's Bay by contacting the team at Hawke's Bay Cricket Association

What do I need to know about my general responsibilities?

•    Find booking Terms and Conditions here
•    You will also find general Terms and Conditions for use of the Centre on the wall inside. Please familiarise yourself with these protocols when you visit the Centre for the first time
•     Keep your eye on the action - never turn your back on an active lane
•    To avoid being inadvertently struck, please don't stand close to the side netting when an adjacent lane is being utilised

Tell me more about the Rodney Green Foundation Indoor Centre?

•    The fully-lit centre features four 4-meter wide training lanes with a run-up for bowlers of up to 35 metres
•    The new, four-metre tall high tension nets are fully retractable, across a total floor space of 1,045 square metres (55 x 19m2)
•    We're extremely fortunate to have this new, world-class facility right on our doorstep in Hawke's Bay. We acknowledge the vision and generosity of our stakeholders and benefactors, spearheaded by the Rodney Green Foundation, that has created a world-class centre for the use of our entire community, as well as our high performance cricketers.
