Central Otago Netball Centre Year 7 & 8 Development Programme 

This development programme is designed to give players the opportunity to play more netball and to upskill in a structured format designed by NNZ. It replaces representative netball in this age group. The Central Otago Netball Centre Development programme in 2026 consists of:

1.      A Full Day Development Programme held on Saturday 18 July 2026, 9.45am to 4pm (Alternative weather date is 19 July  2026.)

Start time 9.45am. Finish approx. 4pm, held at the Central Otago Netball Centre

Players will be exposed to specialist coaches and playing opportunities. All players should wear appropriate clothing/footwear and bring a packed lunch and water.

Important: For players to be included in tournament teams they must attend and participate in the full day programme.

2.      Two Tournaments:

a.     Central Lakes Year 7 & 8 Development Tournament (all Players) - Held at the Central Otago Netball Centre: Sunday 2 August 2026

All players who attend the full day development programme will be included in a team for the Tournament on Sunday 2 August

b.     Netball South Year 7 & 8 Development Tournament (Some players) - Held at Invercargill: Sunday 16 August 2026

Players will be selected by CONC to attend the Invercargill Tournament.

To be considered, players must have attended the full day development programme AND the Alexandra Tournament.

IMPORTANT: All transport, accommodation arrangements and associated costs to attend the Invercargill tournament are the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian to organise and pay.

Those selected to attend the Invercargill Tournament will be advised following the Alexandra Tournament.

Positional Preferences

To ensure a good mix of players throughout the teams, please indicate your child’s preference of either Shoot, Defence, Midcourt or Utility. This does not mean they will get to only play this position in the tournament. It is likely players will try new positions.

Registration and Cost

The development programme is open to all age appropriate affiliated CONC players.

The cost is $65.00 per player and this must be paid together with registration form. Registration is not accepted until both payment and the form are completed in full. If you have any issues completing the registration, please email conetball@gmail.com for support.

Registration numbers are limited and registrations will be closed without notice (before the close date) when capacity is reached for any particular age group. 

Registrations (including payment) close Friday  26 June 2026.

As all participants in the Year 7-10 Development programmes are under the age of 16 - the form and consent MUST BE completed by a parent or Guardian to be accepted.
