A new and exciting era for CHB Technology Education.
The first students walked through the doors of beautifully refurbished classrooms at the College for their Year 7 / 8 Technology education. Many may remember this as “Manual Training”.
Due to roll growth, the Waipawa Centre was required to close late in 2024 so that Waipawa School could utilise the Technology classrooms.
Technology is a valued, practical component of the NZ curriculum. The College site will offer Hard Materials (wood, metal, plastics), Food Technology, Soft Materials (sewing and other crafts) and digital components for fourteen CHB Primary Schools, with Flemington School being first in the gates.
Local Primary School Principals are thanked for their support.
After delivering the technology programme in Year 7/8 schools last year, the tutors Miss Rachel Smith and Mr Ben Phillpotts, are looking forward to being based in the new facility.
We extend a warm welcome to the tutors and students and wish them all the very best.
