ADAPTIVE FOOTBALL
What is Adaptive Football?
Adaptive Football is a version of football created to provide an inclusive, fun and safe environment for people with physical or mental impairments, social anxiety or other special needs. It provides a team sport environment for everyone regardless of their disability.
It is played on hard surfaces (like netball courts or indoor hard floor surfaces), which assists with the challenges of car parking for accessible vehicles, and grounds that are stable enough for wheelchairs, walkers or unstable bodies.
Adaptive Football sessions
Golden Bay AFC will shortly commence Adaptive Football sessions at both the Saxton Netball grounds (Motukea) and the Takaka Recreation Park Centre. We are currently applying for funding to provide the necessary equipment needed. Once our equipment has been received we will advise of starting dates/times of sessions.
Adaptive Football volunteers
Golden Bay AFC is looking for volunteers to assist with Adaptive Football. If you are keen to help coach, support the coaches and players, or you are just one of those amazing good sorts who would like to get involved please let us know by emailing operations@goldenbayafc.co.nz.
