PrE  GTDP

The Pre-Girls Talent Development Programme (Pre-GTDP) serves as the foundational developmental bridge linking individual junior club programmes to the formal New Zealand Football Talent Development Programme pathway.
Delivered through the joint venture partnership between East Coast Bays AFC and Hibiscus Coast AFC, this strategic tier focuses on capturing local player potential early, refining individual technical ability and motorial skills to support the North Auckland player base.

Pathway Progression Structure

The curriculum is part of the broader vision around three development cohorts to support and manage player safety, physical loading patterns, and players’ development:
•    Junior Skills Development Phase (10–11 Years Old): Club based with offering at both ECBafc and HBCafc. This programme revolves around skills acquisition and training environment. 
•    Pre-GTDP Core Foundation (12–13 Years Old): Transitioning players directly from junior grades into formal and structured training, establishing technical foundations, game awareness and football mobility.
•    GTDP Development Progression: Direct pathway graduates systematically advance out of Pre-GTDP tiers into GTPD TRIALS in Term 4 providing a 7 weeks training block where all PreTDP players will have the opportunity to be selected for the fully accredited Under 14 Girls Talent Development Programmes.​​​​​​​

Weekly Schedule & Session Framework

All accepted academy cohorts undergo highly structured technical periodisation training sessions tailored specifically around localized youth athletic profiles:
•    Training Contact Days: Term 2 and Term 3 – Tuesdays 
•    Standard Time Block: 4:45 pm – 6:00 pm.
•    Central Facility Location: Ashley Reserve.

Administrative & Communication Logistics

Logistical updates, weekly attendance, field safety updates, and adverse weather alerts are delivered entirely through specialized digital channels. All registered players/parents must sign up on the digital platform and update emails contact at time of registration:

Core Technical & Tactical Curriculum Focus

Training prioritize a problem-solving approach engineered around guided discovery to build an interactive, co-creative student-athlete environment. Youth players are systematically introduced to the master club tactical language matrix, targeting:
•    Technical development
•    Physical literacy
•    4 Moments of the game : Attacking – Defensive transition – Defending – Attacking transition
