Strength & Conditioning Coach / Sport Coordinator
Kim has an extensive netball and basketball coaching backgroundspanning across both New Zealand and Australia. Kim has set up anumber of successful School Netball Programs in Hawkes Bay, SunshineCoast of Australia and most recently, Hamilton Girls High School. Kim has experience working in Netball High Performance having been a partof the successful Sunshine Coast Lightning in the Australian SuncorpSuper Netball League, and in 2024, as the Assistant Coach for the Central Pulse, in the NZ ANZ Championship. Kim currently has oversightof Netball at HGHS and is Head Coach of the Premier Netball Team.
Ben Kirsop & Georgia King
Reuben Samuel leads the HGHS 1st XV and 7s teams. Reuben arrives with a wealth of experience to his name. Previous coaching roles include being the Technical Assistant of the Black Ferns (New Zealand women’s team) and Head Coach of the Waikato Women’s FPC team, and a recent highlight of his career was coaching the Brazilian Women’s 7s team on the HSBC World Sevens Circuit. In addition to bringing a wealth of knowledge around the game, Reuben's strength is in coaching female athletes at all levels.
Jack has been coaching for 35 years, he currently coaches a Fraser Tech women's team and has been coaching at HGHS since 2016. Jack is the General Manager at Waikato Institute for Leadership & Sport Studies. He previoulsy worked at Waikato Hockey and Hockey New Zealand in the youth development space and is a part of the Hockey New Zealand Trainer group. Jack is also mentor on the 2023/2024 "Coaching for Impact" programme with Sport NZ.
Jack states "I have a passion for sport because it is a perfect vehicle to develop young people and build their confidence in a safe and supportive environment. I live for the moments when I see past players achieve in their personal and professional lives".
Lana Kershaw is highly experienced and brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. She has 20+ years of experience as a player and coach, at both the regional and international level. Lana has a proven track record of developing players and leading teams to success. Her passion for the game and dedication to helping athletes reach their full potential make her an invaluable asset to our basketball program.
