Club rowers, school leavers, and adult novices

We have a core of competitive club rowers who target NZ Nationals each year. Winter training starts in May, but we welcome new rowers throughout the season.

It's never too late to begin rowing. There is a novice category open to all new rowers, regardless of age. If you've thought of trying rowing, this is the season to do it!!! To join us or find out more, click through to "membership information" or get in touch.

Masters & social rowers

Want to row, but don't want to join a competitive crew?

Our masters and social rowers group heads out on the river several times a week. We cover a range of experience and ability levels including novices - for us it's all about getting outdoors, building some fitness, and having fun. For more information don't hesitate to get in touch!

School rowers

We support rowing for Sacred Heart Girls College, Hillcrest HS, Rototuna HS, Fraser HS, Ngaaruawaahia HS, and Nga Taiatea Wharekura. We also welcome rowers from other schools or who might be home-schooled, even if you can't make up a full crew. For most of the season, we can mix rowers from multiple schools (and from within our contingent of club rowers) under the Hamilton Rowing Club colours. It's only the March regattas that are limited to school-specific entries.

Coaches

We are currently planning our coaching programme for the 2023/24 season. If you would like to learn some excellent rowing coaching processes and can commit to 2 - 4 sessions a week, then we'd love to have you on our team!
