Hamilton Touch Module

HAMILTON TOUCH MODULE 



Games are played on Thursday nights at Swarbrick Park on Rifle Range Road. Cost is $450 per team with a free team ball. 


Entries will be accepted from all adult grades (as detailed below) subject that there must be at least 6 entries to form a grade.  Draws will be based on full sections of an even number, no byes.

This season we welcome entries for the following grades: 

* Open / Competitive Men's 

* Business House / Social Men's

* Mixed Social 

* Family Social (depending on entries, these teams may end up in the mixed social grade)

Children may play in the mixed social grade however they will be treated as an adult; boys cannot play as girls, playing rules as per the 8th edition Touch NZ rule book. Competition is limited to 30 teams; closing date for entries is when we reach our maximum team limit. 


Family Social is the grade to play with younger children for your fun family night out! Also in the Family Social grade females and all kids under 12 will be awarded 2 points for touchdowns. 


Dates: the season will start on:

Thursday 14 October to 9 December 2021

Break over Christmas and New Years returning

Thursday 13 January to 17 February 2022

Semis: 10 February 2022

Finals: 17 February 2022

Prize-giving will take place after the completion of the final round, all prizes to be collected on the night.

Team Uniform

All Team uniforms must consist of NUMBERED playing tops and SPORTS SHORTS above the knee. Long tights, shorts below the knee or board shorts are not acceptable; you will be asked to leave the field if rules are not complied with.

Tournament Format

Teams will be put into equal divisions depending on the total number of teams entered. There will be three rounds of games with 4 -6 fields at a time. Round times will be 5.50pm, 6.25pm & 7.00pm. Teams will receive a FREE Touch ball as part of the entry fee. Games for the first 3 weeks are grading games and future draws will be published after grading games have been played.

Team Registration Forms

All teams must complete a registration form ONLINE by the end of grading games, however, more players can be added throughout the competition until the cutoff date (TBD by Touch NZ). This is a Touch New Zealand and Sport NZ requirement; this will be done electronically and will be emailed to team managers to fill out. These are compulsory for all teams upon completion teams will receive their free touch ball.

Draws

The draw for the first 4 weeks of competition will be randomly selected and all games will be graded by referees and module coordinators. After grading the season draw will be sent to team contacts and available on the Hamilton Touch Module Website (a tab will open up here). Weekly draws will also be posted on the Hamilton Touch Module Facebook page.

Cancellations   

Games will only be cancelled by module coordinators if the player and referee safety are in doubt. Cancellation notices will be sent to team contacts and on the Hamilton Touch Module Facebook page.  A decision to cancel will be made at 4.00pm and published by 4.15pm to give the best chance for matches to be played.

Referees             

All teams must nominate a referee as a condition of entry, please complete the referee section on the entry form. Entries will not be accepted without a nominated referee, all teams will be on the module referee roster for the season.  Please ensure that you check and officiate at the allotted field and time.  Points will be forfeited if your referee duty is not done.

When you are assigned referee duty your team name is written on the back of the card, you are to sign your name on the back of the card at the completion of the game.

COVID-19 Planning

Due to COVID-19 we have created a health & safety plan in preperation for the upcoming season. Closer to the season we will communicate these plans to registered teams. We belive we can operate our touch module as per 'normal' under L1 and L2 COVID restrictions in a safe manner for our participants.
