Sat 20th June - Hi everyone,

Well, winter has arrived hasn't it! So this will be the theme for the day....Winter. Anyone who wants to paint or draw something to do with winter, or whatever else you have been working on, do come along for a relaxing, creative day.

For anyone wanting to learn more about pastel painting, at 11:30 Colleen Archibald is going to give a short talk about the Pastel Association of New Zealand (PANZ).

A reminder, our club founder, Ian Thompson has a fortnightly Thursday pastel/watercolour group at the Hastings Library, 1pm-3pm. His next meet-up, 25th June. Ian started up our club back in 2013.

Just bring yourself, some lunch (or can be bought at Muffs around the corner) and any paintings to go on show, that you have finished.  And of course your painting gear you will be using for the day. Your choice of paints be it watercolour, oils, pastels or pencils.

Tea, coffee and nibbles are provided.

Starting time is 10am until  after lunch, about 2.30 - 3.30  or whatever suits.

Cheers to all.

Saturday 16th May....

Apologies received....3. Attendance...9 members.   A very disappointing turnout.  Was it the weather or the HB Marathon race - or?  If members have a preference of what they most want out of the club and what they would like to be taught please let us know. What sort of Demonstrators they would like but with the low numbers we are getting turning up at our monthly meetings you have to realise we cannot afford to pay a Demonstrator. I personally, enjoy the company and at the same time want to learn more on how to improve my painting skills. That means practice and if it's with company all the better.

Our club founder and Life Member, Ian Thompson, is having a birthday on the 19th May - this coming Tuesday. He will be turning the grand old age of 90 years.! A big congratulations from me and I am sure all members of the club to Ian. Hope you have a marvellous day.

It was great to see Colleen back at the club on Saturday after her hip operation. A very welcome face and good to see she is on the mend.     Hopefully we will see more members next month.

Cheers to all,   Margaret
