My ancestors stretch from the Far North Island, Te Kao ki Ngati Kuri to the village of Pakipaki ki Ngati Mihiroa.  

Hastings Intermediate offers a unique role within the Primary Education sector of a  Kai Hāpai/ Pastoral support Co-ordinator.

The Kai Hāpai role is making connections with our students, families and community to ensure they feel valued, heard and helped with troubleshooting through the  ‘tween’ years. Connecting people to the right times, places, resources and agencies whilst ensuring that all our students and families feel special. A personal passion in being the Kai Hāpai is to connect with students and guarantee them a smile, caring words and inspiration to achieve their dreams.

A key resource that is used: Health curriculum -  a learning tool in class and individual sessions focusing on the tapa wha strands of Taha Whānau (Family Health, Taha Hinengaro (Mental Health), Taha Tinana (Physical Health) and Taha Wairua (Spiritual Health).
