Training Requirements

Training details to be released soon.

• We will endeavour to accommodate all players into an U16 team however dependant on numbers some players may not be named in an U16 team after the completion of the Trials.
  
• Teams will be training multiple times a week throughout the term, with expectations on extra training in their own time. 
• We expect that selected young athletes commit to their team and attend all trainings. If multiple trainings are missed it will be up to coaching staff to whether selected individual remains in that squad. 
• Please know we will do our upmost to assist our U16 players enjoy their season with HBWP. 

Information About U16’s with HBWP

• Playing water polo at this age and learning to play sport with other young athletes the same age
• Learning how to play in an advanced and competitive team environment with no pressure 
• Coaches who are passionate about teaching the young athletes to enjoy the game
• Being placed in teams that will enhance the young athletes game throughout the season
• Have the opportunity to meet lots of young athletes your own age and play sport with them
• Ability and opportunities to travel, learn, develop and represent the region. 
• Commit to trainings with the team and coach throughout the season
• If you are passionate about the sport the opportunity to trial for U16 age group teams.

2024 Tournaments

Please note that some of these tournaments at this stage are TBC.

27^th – 30^th June, U16s Pre-Season Tournament

Development tournament hosted by Seawolf Water Polo Club in Auckland. Attending this event is TBC.  

23rd - 25th August. Sunny Bay Development Tournament. (HBWP Hosting) 

Division One = 3^rd – 6^th  October, U16 National Championships:

Boys and Girls, Auckland

Division Two = 28^th – 1^st  October, U16 National Championships:

Boys (Hawkes Bay). Girls (Rotorua)

Registration fees for 2024 season

Club Fees Club Registration fee details to be released soon.

• You will also need to register through NZWP and there will be an additional fee for this that needs to be paid prior to you being able to compete.
• There will also be an additional payment for NZ National Age Group championships should you attend this event.

Payment details: Direct credit upon receipt of invoice.

Uniform Sales

Once selected into the squad, information will be released about a “Registration Night” where squad members are to place their order for uniform. We bulk order uniform from overseas so players and parents will be required to attend this evening to try on and order kit for the season. 

Players must have the club togs and uniform to play in any tournaments.
