The junior section of the HSOB Rugby Club caters for boys and girls for all grades from Year 0 - Year 8 (U6-U13). We are proud to be building the elite players of tomorrow. Likewise we are also focused on ensuring the game is enjoyed by absolutely everyone, with children of all ages, sizes and abilities able to build their skills and experience the camaraderie of rugby. 

The club provides a development pathway for players with specialist coaching at all ages. This process culminates in an academy for Under 12 & Under 13 players prior to the season. Team practices are held at venues most convenient for each individual team. In most recent years teams have practiced on a Friday night, 4:30pm - 5/5:30pm at North Hagley Park. Year 7 & 8 teams select a day that suits them best. 

Our clubrooms in North Hagley Park have recently been renovated and allow a great opportunity for junior families to come together on a Friday evening post practise.

Our goals

Provide 2 teams minimum in each grade Year 6(U10) below

Have 30-40 players in each grade (making it easier to transition to 15 a side)

Provide 1 team U11 – U13

Build our player pool to ensure there is always equal opportunities for players no matter of ability
