Welcome to the Hurunui Rangers FC based in North Canterbury

Hurunui Rangers Football Club is the home of the beautiful game in the Hurunui region. We pride ourselves on providing oppurtunities for all ages to play football across the Hurunui Region. We draw players from communities such as Hanmer Springs, Amuri, Cheviot, Hawarden, Waipara, Greta Valley, Amberley, Leithfield and Sefton. Our club has the hallmarks of a country football club with great grounds and fantastic side-line support. The club has grown rapidly over the last ten years, now having over 200 players. 

Our home ground is located at the Amberley Domain for Senior and Youth teams,  In house Junior Football is played across the region with games rotating between Hanmer Springs, Culverden and Amberley.

We are a multi ethnic club and have had players from Mexico, Denmark, Germany, Brazil, Chile, India, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, as well as from all around the Pacific. But while our teams can be multi-national, we pride ourselves in being inclusive and seeing us all as Kiwis. 

The club currently has teams across most grades with youth (Grade 10 - Grade 17) and senior teams playing in the Mainland Football Christchurch competition. Home games for these teams are at Amberley Domain and Away games are throughout the Chch region. The season begins in Term 2 and finishes in late Term 3. Our junior teams (ages 5–9) begin in our in‑house league held in Amberley - players aged 5–7 compete for the duration of Term 2, while ages 7–9 play across Terms 2 and 3. The program offers age‑appropriate coaching, small‑sided matches, and fun, skill‑building activities designed to develop confidence, teamwork, and a lasting love of the game.

Games for Junior and Youth are held on a Saturday morning with practice's on Wednesday afternoon.
