Youth Football

Grade Football -(Ages 10 and up)

Youth Football is for players 10 and up for all abilities. Children are placed into teams based on age/ability and compete in the Mainland competition. Depending on player numbers we try our best to place kids in teams with others of similar ability or for ease of travel, children who live in the same area. Teams are 'graded' in each age group allowing for teams to play against others of a similar ability.


Season: Generally the season runs from the start of Term 2 through to Sept

Games: Saturday mornings  (times vary based on age group)

  • 10th mixed       7-aside      25 min halves     9.15 am
  • 11th mixed       7-aside      25 min halves     10:30 am
  • 12th mixed       9-aside      30 min halves     9:15 am
  • 13th grade        9 aside     35 min halves     10:30 am
  • 14th grade        11 aside     35 min halves    9:15 am
  • 15th grade        11 aside     40 min halves.    9.15 am
  • 17th grade        11 aside     40 min halves.    10:45 am
  • 19th grade        11 aside     45 min halves    10.45 am

Practice: Wednesday evenings 4pm at Amberley Domain

Location: Home games are held at Amberley Domain. Away games are generally in Chch, on the occasion they may be as far as Rolleston. We encourage car pooling where possible

Cost: $140

Kit: The club will provde playing shirts but each child must provide their own Navy shorts and socks. These can be purchased through our online store. Shin pads and boots are mandatory. Before the start of the season we offer a boot swap.

Note: The club is solely run by the support of the parents. We are always looking for managers and coaches for the teams, we can offer support and resources to help. Without this support we cannot register teams, so if you are willing please put your hand up to help.

We also understand the  financial burden of driving kids all over the countryside for sport. We encourage car pooling where possible but we also try and offer travel grants each year for families who need a helping hand getting the kids to games and practices.
