Coaching Coordinator

A self-proclaimed soccer mum, "Krazy" Kerris Browne is a busy lady who runs a farm, an export company with her husband, two holiday homes, coaches part-time, and remains a taxi for her teens. Her enjoyment of running began as an overweight beginner searching for answers in 2008. She used that quest for knowledge to gain various coaching skills and Athletics NZ qualifications, and to create and lead realistic programs for other beginners. Her forte is teaching safe running techniques and preventing injuries when beginners take up a distance running program. But she is also just as comfortable taking beginner road bike sessions or convincing a bunch of beginners swimmers to make it out to the middle of the lake! Kerris says her strength is encouraging people to do things they never thought they could. It's a pity she isn't on comission with the various Event directors..

Just a snippet of what others have to say...

[Running techniques & coaching] I've found all your training to be bang on Kerris, I've especially gained a lot on hill climbing and my posture. Thank you for the awsome coaching!  Ash 17/5/15

[Trail running pack runs] Adding to say thanks for the 4 months of fun & friendly runs. I've over achieved on my 9 month goal already, and been pushed further distance-wise. Surviving running with you has given me the confidence to join RTRC which will help push my pacing. Michelle 17/5/15

[Trail Running advice, running techniques] I would just like to say a huge thank you to you Kerris Browne and the running crew for all of your information, knowledge and encouragement. Your techniques helped me get thru the 67kms on the road with a gammy knee. Knisha 22/2/15

[Technical trail running techniques]  Thanks for an awsome evening Kerris Browne. Everyone that didn't come because the couch was more inviting missed out on a great coaching session. At the end I was running down bit's of trail that I would usually have walked or blundered down like an elephant. Kerris may just make a cougar out of me yet. Nicky 26/11/14

[Technical trail running techniques] - Great run up "As You Do" last night with Kerris Browne and Nicky Hayes. When you said you knew exactly which hill we would be doing with that look in your eye Kerris I thought "oh no" ...and thank goodness I didn't know OR I would of been shunting. Kerris - THANK YOU for the "awsum" run and great advice along the way. Marama 26/11/14

[Speedwork program for Half Marathon] - Just completed the Rotorua Running Festival half marathon. Big Shout out to Kerris Browne for formulating my running plan, being my inspiration and being there every step of the way. Thanks so much. Thanks Olivia Bootten for running with me today. Absolutely stoked with my time 7 mins off my PB. Debbie  23/11/14

Inspirational Kerris! I've said this time and time again and will say it now, I've managed to achieve the things I've achieved in my running through your encouragement and coaching over the last few years. I definitely enjoy the journey with you and looking to more fun things. Olivia  20/11/14

Crikey you have done great! I've got bad scoliosis as well and the back always ached but since you inspired me to keep running its been better. At 120+ kilos I shouldn't be running two + hours still if I listened to the Doc! lol.  Keith 20/11/14

[Half Marathon speedwork program] - Hey Kerris, just want to really thank you (officially) for your training plan that got me an awesome half marathon time today (2:05.39) which is actually my fastest half marathon time since 2012. Can't believe that 5 weeks of speed work made such a huge difference - from running a 2:19 in Cambridge 5 weeks ago, to today's result (on a tougher course and only about 1-2 mins off my half marathon PB). Thanks again for your support and the great advice. Olivia 5/10/14

[Running Techniques Class] - Thanks Kerris for your support and ongoing help critiquing my running style. I am finding it very beneficial. See you next week. Karen 14/09/14

[Beginners Program] - She's awesome gives excellent advice and support .....thanks Kerris I am determined to succeed but oh my she's a hard task master...Kim  29/08/14

[Running Strength Class] - I really enjoyed it thank you so much! you are such an awesome motivator. I'm sure my butt will be sore tomorrow, which means it's working. Nicola 30/07/14

[Marathon Pack Leading] - Hi Kerris, Thank's again for everything you have done for us as a group over the last 15 weeks and especially for giving me the skills and the confidence to do something I never thought I would do. It has been fun and I am really excited about Saturday and looking forward to the day. Wayne 01/05/14

[Half Marathon program] - Hey Kerris, thanks to your awesome coaching, I just ran my first half marathon at a 10-minute mile pace, 2 hours and 11 minutes, hills and all! Totally happy with that. Thank you so much! Leah 30/9/14

[Marathon pack] The reason I am back in your running group this year is I love, love, love the running information you give us, I want to run at my best marathon day and without all the tips and information and the training you give us  it would not be possible. , I love the fact that each run is different too, we don't just run the same tracks week after week after week. Cheers Deb. Debbie 05/02/14

[Marathon pack] I absolutely love what you've been doing with us so far. I feel challenged and yet comfortable (if that makes sense) so its great! As much as I don't like doing Fartlek or hill reps I know its all going to pay off in the long run. So thank you and keep it up Kerris!  Reine 05/02/14
