2024 Trials for Juniors:

Year 1-6 players do not trial.

Any year 7 to year 8 netball players wanting to join a Mangawhai Netball Team are requested to attend the junior trials.

Trials allow independant selectors and committee members to fairly grade and form teams.

Trials are closed to spectators please.

Players - please ensure you have appropriate clothes and shoes to play in and a water bottle is essential!

Where: Mangawhai Beach School GYM

Wed 20th March 3pm-5.30pm

Fri 22nd March 3pm-5.30pm

If you can't make these dates we might be able to accommodate Sunday 24th March but please do your best to attend the 20th or 22nd.

Trials for Seniors:

Any collegiate or senior players interested in playing for Mangawhai Netball Club this season are requested to participate in a trial.

Mangawhai Netball club over the past few seasons has had teams graded in A - C divisions in the Netball Rodney Centre competition. These have been a range of collegiate & mixed teams.

Trainings are held Wednesday nights.  Games are played Friday nights.

We try to cater for all levels of netball from those new to the sport, those returning after kids or injury and those who are experienced. 

Participating in trials helps selectors and committee members to create teams that accommodate all players.

MNC Trial and Selection Policy

To select the best possible team of players of a similar skill level.

TRIALS:

  • Two separate trials will be held.
  • A third trial may be held, if necessary.  In the event of a third trial all players will be notified by the Club.
  • Trials will be held on two different days of the week where possible.
  • All players are to attend a minimum of one trial BUT two is preferable.
  • A player must give the committee as much notice as possible if they cannot attend a trial/both trials for any reason.
  • Acceptable valid reasons for not attending a trial/s are at the discretion of the committee.
  • Players must be registered and paid members before they will be named in a team.

SELECTORS:

  • Team selections are to be carried out by 3 selectors including at least 1 independent selector as nominated by the Executive committee. The selector(s) team suggestions will be reviewed by the committee, and coaching officials where possible, before teams are named.
  • Team selection is to be finalised within one week of the final trial date where possible.
  • The selector’s decision is final. 
  • No discussion will be entered into.
