Rallies
Our rallies are when we come together for riding and theoretical instruction, and will mostly take place at our Pony Club grounds in Ranfurly. Riders are encouraged to arrive early enough to be tacked up, mounted and lined up together ready for the start of the rally.
Our rallies will start with a gear check to ensure safety. NZPCA has a number of rules and regulations relating to both rider and gear so check them out on their website. We can help with any confusion or uncertainty so please feel free to ask.
As well as checking gear we choose a recipient for the rally turn out award. This is to encourage improving and encouraging high standards of grooming, gear maintenance and care, correctly attired riders and pride in our club.
Our President and Head Coach will then welcome everyone, pass on any information they need to and introduce riders and coaches for group instruction and activities. We aim to instruct over the course of the rally, at both the level of riding as well as vertical grouping for specifically targeted rallies so that riders can enjoy riding with others in the club who are at different levels. The aim of this is to bring the club members together as a whole, regardless of ability, to promote teamwork, fun and new experiences.
We will take quick breaks for refreshment and an opportunity to change any gear required for the next session.
Our rallies will run for approximately 90 -120 minutes.
