PARENT HELPERS

To ensure this season runs smoothly we are looking for parents to help us run club nights. We are needing age group helpers (who walk the kids around in their age groups to ensure they are at the right activity at the right time). Without these helpers we will not be able to run some sessions on club nights. Please contact Anna if you are able to commit to this.

WHAT'S ON OFFER FOR OUR KIDS

Club Nights - Every Tuesday night for all ages.  Tiny Tots (Ages 2 -4 years ) start 5.30pm, Midgets (Ages 5 and 6 years)  start 6pm and Juniors/Seniors (ages 7 + years) start 6.15pm.

Tiny Tots (2-4yrs) - This season will be alot like last season. There will throwing and jumping activities as well as our usual running.  In order for these activities to work, whānau involvement is key to making things run smoothly and through this, our hope is that we all experience the joy of helping our kids learn and develop new throwing, jumping and running techniques throughout the season. Please meet in the middle of the track by 5:25pm.

Midgets (5-6 years) - This season, will be like last season where we have 2 races each club night and a field event (Long jump, shotput, discus, Javelin, Vortex throw or High Jump).   Whānau involvement will make this season a huge success, not only for the club but more importantly, for your children.

Juniors (7-9 years) – This is the ‘emerging’ athlete age band.  Athletes are beginning to develop their athletic skills of run, jump and throw. Athletes will have 4 events to complete on a club night. This age band qualifies to compete at Colgate Games, Auckland Championships, Counties Manukau Championships and can be selected for representative teams.

Seniors (10-17 years) – At club, we refer to our 10 + year olds as ‘Seniors’ because they are our older Juniors – Older Juniors doesn’t roll of the tongue like the word ‘Seniors’.  Both the first-time athlete and the competitive athlete will enjoy what this age band has on offer.  All athletes will have access to regular weekly training and club night competition.  If you’re an athlete looking for more challenges, there is the Challenge Day Competition for the grade 10-11-12-13 year olds; as well as the club representative teams; Counties Manukau Championships; and Auckland Championships.  Colgate Games is open to all athletes 7-14 years of age.
