1. Where it Begins: The Skills & Drillz Initiative

Every great journey starts with a single step. We offer our Skills & Drillz initiative to help anyone learn the basics of the sport completely free of charge. You don't need any prior experience, gear, or football knowledge. This program is designed to teach you safe fundamentals, catch and throw mechanics, and foundational rules in a supportive environment. It is the perfect, no-pressure entry point to help you build confidence before stepping into competitive club grades.

2. The Club & Representative Pathway

Once you have the basics down, you can choose how far you want to push yourself. Our structured grade systems (from U10 flag up to Premier Men's and Women's contact) allow you to play socially or chase championships. For top-performing athletes, the Eagles are a proven launchpad for national recognition, with a strong track record of players earning selection to represent New Zealand on the world stage with the Ironblacks and Steelblacks national squads.

3. The Ultimate Horizon: New NFL Pipelines to Australia & New Zealand

The game is changing rapidly, and the ceiling for international players has never been higher. The NFL is now actively investing in and providing direct talent pathways specifically for athletes in Australia and New Zealand. The NFL Academy (Asia-Pacific): Located on the Gold Coast, this elite, high-performance academy actively scouts naturally gifted athletes aged 12–18 from across the Trans-Tasman region. Its sole purpose is to transition rugby, league, and crossover athletes into elite American football players, giving them a direct pipeline to earn full athletic scholarships to major U.S. colleges (NCAA Division 1).

  • The International Player Pathway (IPP): For senior athletes, the NFL’s IPP program provides a direct route for international players to bypass the traditional U.S. high school/college route and earn a spot directly on an NFL roster, just like former rugby league and union players have successfully done.
