$30 'Have-a-Go' Intro Evening (family discount)
A great way to experience this sport, and get a real insight into Smallbore Target Shooting.
Individual coaching for the whole 1½ hour session
Includes:
- Mandatory Safety Briefing
- Introduction to shooting equipment; including the Rifle, Clothing, Scope, Hearing protection and Ammunition
- Introduction to the basics of Target Shooting – covering loading and aiming, the use of the trigger and what to expect when the shot is fired.
- You will shoot two 10 shot cards/targets – which you get to keep
- We provide you with all of the shooting equipment and ammunition you’ll need
- Individual coaching for the 1½ hour session
- And Finally – (you’ll probably need it) a good ‘old cuppa or a cold drink and biscuit or two
$15 'Pay-as-you-go' Evenings
These evening are available once you have completed the 'Have-a-go' Intro evening and joined the Melrose club
Includes:
- We provide you with all of the shooting equipment you’ll need
- You can shoot as many 10 shot cards/targets as you like
Please note: Ammunition is not included in this price, but can be purchased at the club.
$120 Four Week Beginners Course
This Comprehensive Four Lesson Beginners Programme is designed to give you the necessary knowledge and skills to get you started for an exciting future in the sport.
What to expect:
- First lesson will follow along the lines of the 'Have-a-go' Introductory special
- Subsequent lessons will be devoted to specific topics for example; Prone shooting position, Sighting & sight corrections, Correct breathing, Trigger control, Rifle care & cleaning, Scoring of targets
- Individual coaching for 1½ hour sessions
- All shooting equipment provided; Rifle, Shooting jacket, Shooting glove, Scope, Hearing protection and Ammunition
- Training booklet for the course

Children under 16 years are welcome, but must be accompanied by a guardian
Wear comfortable clothing. Preferably long trousers
Each Training Session is for approx. 1½ hours
No previous experience is needed
Firearms licence is also not necessary
