The Melville Cricket Club was established back in 1977 and plays in the Hamilton Cricket Association (HCA) Competition in Hamilton City.
In 2027, the Melville Cricket Club will celebrate its 50 Year reunion since its establishment, with a weekend of events, matches and comradery in February 2027.
The Melville Cricket Club are the only Premier Cricket Club based on the west side of the Waikato River, however we attract players from all over Hamilton as well as newcomers to Hamilton City.
The Melville Cricket Club is a community-driven amateur sports club based in Deanwell with a HCA Premier Men's Team and a Premier Reserve Men's Team and for the 2026/27 season, are excited to relaunch a Women's Premier Team to play in the Waikato Womens competition.
The Melville Cricket Club also boasts a growing Junior Cricket Club, aided by our Club Sponsors and wonderfully run by our Committee and Parents. In the 2025/26 season, the Melville CC was represented by seven Junior Teams.
The Melville Cricket Club Premier Team in the 2024/25 Season were finalists in the Hamilton Cricket Association T20 Competition and 2-Day Competition, going down in the 3-Day Howden Cup Final on Seddon Park.
The Melville Cricket Club Premier Team in the 2025/26 Season were Winners in the Hamilton Cricket Association T20 Competition and finalists in the 1-Day Competition, going down in the 1-Day Hec Holland Plate Final.
The Melville Cricket Club have a strong Committee engaged to help with the running of the club, contibuting their time to help with practices, team organisation and social events.
Melville Cricket Club Senior Practices are held on Tuesday nights over summer from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, at the St Pauls Collegiates Nets in Chartwell.
Melville Cricket Club Junior Practices are held on Wednesdays nights over summer from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Mangakōtukutuku College in Deanwell.
