VENUE HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
| DEPOSIT | Deposit is non-refundable and booking will only be confirmed on receipt of deposit. |
| BOND & PAYMENT | The hirer will be responsible for any damage done to the property, by their actions or their guests and/or employees or the accidental failure of lighting and power. A bond of $500.00 will apply for all functions and weddings, which will be refunded in full if there is no damage to the building or contents and the conditions of hire are adhered to. If damage is done, which exceeds the value of the Bond, the hirer will be charged for the additional costs for the repairs at market prices. The bond plus balance of the hire cost is due no later than one month before the function date. Bond will be returned after inspection. |
| NUMBERS | Fire safety regulations state that the maximum number of people allowed in the club is 60. |
| MARQUEES | Marquees are permitted providing a building consent has been obtained from the TCDC by the hirer. An additional fee of $250.00 is payable to MBBC if erecting a marquee. Our policy regarding marquees restricts the size of the marquee to less than 100 sq meters; our policy further requires that the marquee be positioned on the seaward side of the building. |
| DECORATIONS | Decorations may only be attached to the hooks provided under the rafters. Adhesives of any kind may not be used o any painted or varnished surfaces. No candles or naked flames are allowed.

| ALCOHOL | It is a privilege to have alchohol on these premises, please respect this privilege. Alcohol may NOT be sold from these premises. |
| SMOKING | The Clubrooms are designated smoke free zone. NO SMOKING in the building. |
| CURFEW | All music MUST finish at 10.30pm and the Club to be vacated by 11.00pm. Failure to comply with these requirements may lead to the police being called by neighbours and forfiture of BOND for non-compliance. (NB. Police intervention can result in a fine up to $20,000 for the hirer and $2,500 for individuals) |
| CLEANING | There is a mandatory cleaning fee charged for all hires. This still means that all rubbish, decorations, party items etc are removed from the premises at the end of the hire. The cleaner you leave theh premises the more likely you are to be charged the minimum fee. Cleaning costs will be deducted from the bond. |
| RUBBISH | Please remove ALL of your rubbish, including all bottles, cans and food scraps etc, when you do the clean up. Please supply and remove your own rubbish bags. |
| SAFETY | It is the responsibility of the hirer to keep the designated exits are clear at all times. Fire extinguishers must always be visible and accessible. The hirer will not create, or allow any hazard to be created, on the premises and will immediately take all necessary action to either remove or isolate any hazard arising during their occupancy. |

NOT INCLUDED: Glassware, Tea towels, rubbish bags or toilet hand towels
NB. The Mercury Bay Boating Club prides itself on honouring all bookings and reservations. However, due to the beach erosion that has taken place in the last year, we cannot guarantee with certainty, that reservations made for functions in late 2021 and 2022 will go ahead as planned. We are accepting reservations and deposits in good faith, with every intention of honouring these commitments. However, if due to weather events beyond our control OR COVID RELATED CLOSURES we are not able to safely rent out the venue, we will be obliged to cancel the reservation. As such, all prospective renters must acknowledge that the club MBBC will not be held liable for any costs related to a cancellation that stems from a weather related event OR MANDADTED COVID CLOSURE or safety concern. By making a reservation and providing a deposit, the renter agrees to hold harmless the club and its committee members for any cancellation beyond the control of the club. The deposit will be returned but the renter will not be entitled to any further claims beyond this.
COVID-19 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By entering this Agreement, the Hirer warrants and confirms to abide by all rules and directives published and updated by the government from time to time at https://covid19.govt.nz/. The Hirer understands and accepts that MBBC may immediately terminate this Agreement if the Hirer breaches any of the government rules or directives.
