The editor in a moment of absolute clarity arrived at a contest between players holding different cricket bat manufacturers bats.

As there is only a limited number of bats owned by individuals and a spread of bat makes it was decided to categorize into three groups

Gray-Nicolls (4 bats owned).

Other Manufacturers (at this time there are 5 in total, 2 x GM, 1 x Ca, 1 x KG & 1 x Slazenger).

Borrowed (those that do not currently own their own bat. This editor believes it would be too much hassle to track down who in this category used which bat in what innings so far this season).

NOTE: The picture on this page: Bosom is a small importer of bats from India, currently supplying a number of bats to club cricketers in New Zealand and the UK. The three bat brands they have are called Platinum Blonde, Double D (pictured) & Handful. Their moto on their website is 'you've tried the rest, now try the breast'.

Bosom Bats Cited in New Zealand 1st Class game

International umpire Dave Quested was less than happy when umpiring a 1st class ladies match between Wellington and Otago.

One of the Wellington players was using a Double D and the umpires stopped the game and made an official complaint to the team. This was then made official in a citing to New Zealand cricket.

The wording reads "The player breached advertising code on her bat by the name and content namely “Bosom Bat” “Double D” and the form of a shapely woman on the bat with very upright bosoms. This display caused lack of concentration by the 2 umpires. The logo of the woman is too large in all areas."

A spokesperson for the team said. " the player is very proud of her Bosom, and was very upset when the umpires asked her to remove her bosom from their line of vision."
