Player Code of Conduct
- Play hard but play within the rules and in the spirit of the sport
- Never question the referee and always accept decisions made on the field
- Comply with instructions or directions from the coach, manager, officials etc.
- Remember all coaching is done on a voluntary basis so please make your coaches job easy by attending all practices, and games. If you can’t attend for a legitimate reason or will be late, you must communicate with the coach or manager in an appropriate manner and timeframe.
- Show respect at all times to your opponents, officials, team members, coaches, managers, supporters etc.
- Wear correct uniform in the appropriate manner during all games.
- Bring a positive sporting attitude to practices and games. Remember the coach and team reply on your commitment.
Parent/Supporter Code of Conduct
- Encourage and support young people to play sport for the right reasons – enjoyment, social interaction, health and fitness, skills and personal development.
- Encourage positive behaviour in sport, good discipline and behaviour on the field of play.
- Focus on effort and performance rather the results.
- Encourage your young person to play within the rules and spirit of the sport.
- Demonstrate positive spectator/side line behaviour. This includes respecting officials’ decisions, providing positive, supportive and motivating comments, not using derogatory, bad, rude or abusive language and not showing anger or aggression.
- Communicate concerns or issues to the coach or committee in a constructive manner.
Coach/Manager Code of Conduct
- Display a high standard of conduct and language
- Promote the Players Code of Conduct at every opportunity.
- Insist on fair play and discipline
- Promote a culture of respect and enjoyment.
- Establish and communicate clear team policies and procedures to players and parents.
- Ensure that all team members are given a reasonable and fair opportunity to participate in games. Carry out substitution and rotation requirements to reflect this.
- Respect the talent, development and goals of all players.
- Communicate with players in an open and honest manner. Only use text or social media for logistical communications.
- Be reasonable with the demands on player’s time, energy and enthusiasm; especially when they are involved in other codes and/or representative teams.
- Ensure that an injured or sick player’s welfare is the priority in decisions made.
