Fee-Free Rugby for All Players

Newlands RFC is proud to continue offering fee‑free rugby for every player in 2026. This initiative began in 2022 to support families during the uncertainty of COVID‑19, and thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and community, it has now expanded across all grades.

Removing financial barriers ensures every child can participate, regardless of their circumstances. Being part of a team supports physical health, boosts mental well‑being, builds confidence, and strengthens our wider community.

Optional Koha

If you would like to contribute a koha for the season, donations can be made directly to: Newlands Rugby Club; 03‑0502‑0195952‑00

Hardship Fund

We understand that costs can still arise during the season, even with fee‑free rugby. Our Hardship Fund is available to support families with rugby‑related expenses such as mouthguards, boots, or other gear.

Boot Swap

Our community Boot Swap helps players find boots at no cost. Children do not need to bring a pair to swap - anyone is welcome to pick up boots if we have their size available.

If your child has outgrown boots, donations are always appreciated, but never required.

Team Photo Fee

A small optional $20 team photo fee applies across all grades.

Providing free access to rugby - along with supportive initiatives like the Hardship Fund and Boot Swap - ensures every child has the opportunity to play, grow, and belong. This approach builds confidence, resilience, teamwork, and a strong sense of community.
